Potential Free Foreclosure Review for Homeowners In any Stage of the Foreclosure Process in 2009-2010

Homeowners that were in any stage of the foreclosure process in 2009 and 2010 and that were a customer of one of 27 mortgage servicers may qualify for a free foreclosure review that may in some circumstances lead to compensation.  Requests must be made no later than July 31, 2012, via either an online application or a post-marked form.  Details can be obtained from Independent Foreclosure Review that can be reached here or by calling 1-888-952-9105.

The Web Site includes the list of 27 servicers along with a series of FAQs.

The Independent Foreclosure Process is free (and if they ask for compensation to submit the form it is a scam and not the actual group monitored by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency).

    Hi Ted,

Such good news for homeowners they will have the chance to get some reimbursement if ever they are eligible after the review. And also they must be aware about the possible scam as you mentioned.

Very interesting! The foreclosure crisis is slowly becoming easier to cope with when one gets news like this. Like Claudine, I feel that it will be nice to see homeowners get a opportunity to qualify for reimbursement. I was curious if mortgage companies like american home mortgage servicing inc are one of the 27 mortgage companies offering this opportunity. Thanks for you post. I will check back later for more information.
