It’s a big world and there are more people here every day—now tallying 7.1 billion.
Where do most of the people in the world live? While there are 228 countries and areas counted in the world’s population, slightly more than 58 percent live in just 10 countries. Would you believe that just 20 countries each have more than 1 percent of the world’s population? That just 81 countries have just 2/10ths of 1 percent or greater of the world’s population? And that 68 countries have less than 1 million total people?
So who has the most people? According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of the world’s countries are as follows.
