It’s the little things…

…that make a BIG difference. It’s a saying we have all most likely heard, and a principle that has significance in every aspect of our lives. Whether it is in our relationships, our career or our community, the ability to achieve success stems from a personal commitment and consistent effort to go above and beyond what is expected.

Results require both action and effort. It begins with a desire in your heart, but desire alone is not enough. Great results demand a dedicated commitment and accountability that push you past the limits of good.

Every day, brave women and men go beyond the call of duty as police officers, firefighters and soldiers to protect and serve us. They risk their lives in the face of danger.

Championships are often determined by inches. Champions work together for a common purpose.

  • Invest in people. Take time on a regular basis to do something extra special for your friends, your spouse, your children, your parents, your co-workers. Surprise them just because. A little extra goes a long way.
  • Invest in your work. Commit to being the best at what you do. Know that you are an integral part of the company’s success. What you do every day matters. Choose to make a difference and watch what happens all around you.
  • Invest in your community. Giving back is one of the greatest ways we can make a big difference. Think about the good that comes when we share just one hour or more a week.

So today (and every day), think about what little ‘extra’ you can give that can make the difference in your work, your relationships and in the lives of others. Maybe it’s a hand-written note to say ‘Thank You,’ or perhaps an unscheduled call to let someone know that you are thinking about them, or stepping in to help a co-worker on a challenging project.

How much are you willing to give?
