MarketWatch article U.S. properties targeted for foreclosure rose 8% in first half
Excerpt: “One of every 78 U.S. housing units, or 1.28% of the total, was subject to at least one foreclosure filing in the first six months of the year. That’s a total of 1.65 million properties, RealtyTrac reported.
Foreclosure filings include default notices, auction-sale notices and bank repossessions.
In Arizona, the figures were 3.36%, or 1 in 30 housing units. In Florida, 3.15% of the housing units received a foreclosure filing. That’s 1 in 32 properties.”
