Sellers Believe Their Home is More Valuable Than Their Listing Agent

HomeGain’s latest study of more than 400 real estate agents and 2,000+ homeowners finds that three out of four home sellers (76 percent) think their home is worth more than their listing agent’s recommendation, up from 73 percent a year ago. In contrast, 68 percent of home buyers believe that asking prices exceed the market value of the home, down from 73 percent a year ago.
- 42 percent of agents believe that home values will decrease in the next months versus 37 percent of homeowners
- Just 15 percent of real estate agents believe that believe home prices will rise in the next half-year compared to 11 percent last quarter
- 15 percent of homeowners believe home values will rise in the next months compared to 12 percent last quarter
