Kiplinger has analyzed states on economic friendliness to retirees based on higher-than average taxes including income, real estate, sales, estate and inheritance taxes. The 10 most tax unfriendly are included in the table.
Kiplinger also includes an analysis of all 50 states.
In addition they have listed the 10 most tax-friendly states for retires which include (and not in rank order) –
Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wyoming.
As interesting as Kiplinger’s findings are the comments posted by readers showing how individuals respond to taxes.
